CarLog is designed with privacy first. Your vehicles, fuel logs, service records, parts, contacts, and photos are stored locally on your device and sync across your devices through your personal iCloud account. We do not have access to any of your vehicle data.
Your vehicle data syncs across your iPhone and iPad using Apple's CloudKit. This data is stored in your personal iCloud account and is governed by Apple's privacy policy. We cannot access your iCloud data.
CarLog asks for certain device permissions only when you use specific optional features. All permissions can be denied, revoked, or changed in iOS Settings at any time.
When you use the VIN decoder, CarLog may query the free public NHTSA vPIC API to look up the make, model, and year from your VIN. Only the VIN is sent to NHTSA — no personal information is attached. The response is used only to populate your vehicle record and is not logged on our servers.
Any purchases are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not collect or store payment information.
You can delete all your data at any time by deleting the app or by removing individual vehicles, entries, and parts in the app. Since we do not store your data on our servers, there is nothing additional to delete on our end.
CarLog is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect any data from children.
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
